Michael D. Morrison, CPA

michael morrisonMichael is a Montana native raised in the heritage of Montana agriculture. Don’t let the tie fool you! He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty, and you will seldom find him dressed in a suit. In fact, he is as much at home turning a wrench on his project car, pounding nails for a home remodel project, or working in the yard, as he is at the office. With experience in public and private accounting, management positions, and investment advisory positions (including compliance, training, and sales), Michael has obtained a vast range of knowledge in many facets of business. Thanks to this experience, he can deliver both business theories as well as assist with their technical application.

Michael spent 7 years as an adjunct accounting professor with Montana State University-Billings. He has led various seminars and workshops on budgeting, cash flow, choice of entity, tax planning, accounting fundamentals, and QuickBooks. Teaching involves listening to questions and being responsive to students. It also requires connecting theories to practice and having the confidence to react to an ever-changing environment in order to nurture and develop talents. In his own words, Michael notes, “Teaching has made me be a better business advisor.” As a business advisor, Michael works to develop talent and expand the knowledge of business owners so they can not only build their business, but also realize the independence, control and rewards associated with choosing self-employment.
